Kazim Rashid is a British born, Muslim artist & filmmaker living in London and Berlin. His work challenges the assumptions made about the world we live in. Underpinned by a commitment to subversive characters, narrative, representation and visual language he seeks to defy expectations around identity, thought, experience and faith. Having cut his teeth in the music industry working with artists and record labels such as Warp Records, Rashid’s work remains committed to this foundation resulting in a form which treads the line between documentary, music video and video installation.
His work was featured in group and solo exhibitions including ‘Begin Again’, Guts Gallery London (Virtual Group Show, 2020); ‘Abbas Zahedi: How To Make A How From A Why?, South London Gallery’ (London, 2020); ‘Perspectives of Courage’, The Other Art Fair (London, 2020); ‘Nothing Looks The Same At Night, The Third Line Gallery’, Dubai (2019); ‘The Lovers Table’, Sheffield International Doc/Fest (2019); ‘Programme 12’, Sharjah Institute for Theatrical Arts (2019); and ‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’, Rich Mix Mezzanine Gallery, London (2018).
