"Currently, many art institutions, who have continuously failed black people and never focused anti-racism, are coming out as public supporters. A dialogue must be opened in which we work on implementing anti-racist strategy and protocol, where resources and ideas can be shared between various organisations to ensure shared responsibility. It’s not good enough to say you support black people if you’re doing no other work to back that up. Raising awareness isn’t enough anymore. We are all aware of racism. All non-black people are part of upholding it. Now is time to do the work, put it into action and dismantle it. Words without action is nothing but an empty self-congratulating performance. We must be better than that."
